Whether it’s public schools, colleges and universities, restaurants and stores, or even the National Football League, all of us are wondering what this “new normal” we keep hearing about is going to look like. We can be sure that eventually, it indeed will arrive. When it does, we most likely will notice that the “new normal” retains many features of the “old normal.” One of these, undoubtedly, will be the value of higher education.
The difference for workers with an associate’s degree is $6,500 more annually than those with a high school diploma and increases to $27,000 more with a bachelor’s degree. During a lifetime, earnings increase by $300,000 for an associate’s degree to approximately $1.3 million more for a bachelor’s degree.
