Community Colleges Take Steps to Address Campus CrimeAugust 6, 2019 |

Officials at Wayne County Community College and Henry Ford College talk with pride — and a promise of vigilance — regarding campus safety.
WCCC’s Downriver campus reported four on-campus criminal offenses in a three-year period ended in 2017, and HFC reported 24, according to the statistics kept under guidelines of the federal Clery Act. The 19-year-old federal law — named for a Lehigh College student who was murdered in her room — requires colleges to report campus crimes annually, usually in October.
