The effort to establish a new community college in Erie County has been endorsed by a group of local manufacturers.
The Erie Regional Manufacturing Partnership’s board of directors has approved a resolution supporting nonprofit Empower Erie’s plan to launch the new school. The resolution also encourages Erie County government to “adopt a formal Erie County Resolution to approve, adopt and endorse the Erie Community College Plan and Application and establish Erie County as the local sponsor.”
Erie County Council is expected to vote on county sponsorship of the school at a special meeting June 27.
