No Gunman Found, Michigan College Lifts Lockdown

WARREN, Mich. — A Detroit-area community college has lifted a lockdown put in place following a report of a man carrying an automatic weapon.

Macomb Community College in Warren posted a message on its website Tuesday evening saying its Center Campus was on lockdown until further notice after the report of the gunman near a wooded area there.

It advised members of the college community to seek shelter if they were on campus, and if not, to stay away.
College spokesman Sean Patrick said several police agencies searched the campus. The three-hour effort turned up no evidence of a person with a gun.

Patrick said authorities were given a description of a suspect who was described as a white male with gray hair, camouflage clothing and a long gun. No shots were fired.
