The State of California’s Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office announced April 25 Shasta College was a $1.5 million Innovation in Higher Education award winner for its STEP-UP program.
The award recognizes the achievement of the STEP-UP program in helping to provide high-quality college courses to currently and formerly incarcerated students in order to transform their lives. Out of the 66 applications submitted for consideration, Shasta College was one of the 11 schools to receive an award.
