Americorps Coaches Students to Complete College

MARION – The issue of students failing to complete college degree programs is at the forefront of higher education discussions nationwide.

According to the Ohio Association of Community Colleges, only 36 percent of Ohio adults have an associate’s or higher degree. The success rate for those who start associate’s degree programs is extremely low, according to OACC. Less than 3 percent of those who begin two-year programs will complete them within two years. Ten percent of students finish programs in three years and 16.5 percent complete two-year degrees in four years.
