The current executive vice president of Bishop State Community College is now its interim president after the current president announced his retirement from the position on Wednesday.
Lawrence Brandyburg was appointed as the new leader of the community college based in downtown Mobile by Alabama Community College System (ACCS) Chancellor Jimmy Baker.
Former president Regional Sykes stepped down from the position during an ACCS board of directors meeting earlier Wednesday in Montgomery.
