Technical College Expands Offerings

ALEXANDRIA, La. — Gov. John Bel Edwards and local officials are announcing a new $21.5 million campus for Central Louisiana Technical Community College.

The Town Talk reports the project is being unveiled Monday. It was previously delayed by state budget problems.

The 50,000-square-foot facility was developed through Act 360, passed by the Legislature in 2013 to try to improve campuses in the community and technical college system.

Alexandria’s Central Louisiana Technical Community College project will create a workforce industrial training campus for developing skills in jobs that are in demand.

It will offer expanded programs in health care, welding, industrial maintenance, construction and business.
