AUSTIN, Texas — The state is in a global competition to attract big business and high paying jobs, which is not an easy task if there aren’t enough qualified workers to fill certain positions.
Now state lawmakers are looking into how community colleges can make a difference, by making a change of their own. Community Colleges are unique places of higher education. Schools juggle helping kids fresh out of high school and assist adults looking for a fresh start.
