Votes Are There to Back College for Erie, Pa.

Don’t expect a repeat of 2010.

Erie County Council appears to have enough votes to move forward with local sponsorship of a proposed Erie County community college.

That means the county would contribute an annual share of funds to keep the college open.

County Council Chairman Jay Breneman said his intent is to have the measure on council’s agenda at its next meeting, scheduled for June 13, and four of council’s seven members — Breneman, Kathy Fatica, Andre Horton, and Fiore Leone — said they intend to vote in favor of it.
