When Felix Ortiz III ended two years as an active service as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army 18th Airborne Corps and three years in the ROTC while a student at St. John’s University in Queens, NY, he experienced first-hand the issue facing many veterans in the civilian job market.

“We were being recommended to be truck drivers when our skill sets were not aligned to be truck drivers at all,” recalls Ortiz, 32, who had also been a member of the Army JAG Corps.
