About 22,000 New York students are attending college as recipients of the state’s new Excelsior Scholarship, which covers tuition for qualifying students, Inside Higher Ed reported.
Administrators are still processing 6,000 applications, so the total number of scholarship recipients is expected to rise through the semester, per Inside Higher Ed.
