Accreditation Panel Puts a Pa. College on Notice

The institution that accredits the Community College of Allegheny County has sent a letter to the school stating that it is in jeopardy of losing its accreditation “due to insufficient evidence” that it is in compliance over how it assesses student learning.

The Middle States Commission on Higher Education, in a public disclosure statement dated June 22, said the North Side-based school has until March 1 to prove that it is compliant with Standard 14, an assessment process that includes, but is not limited to, evidence of “clear guidelines and timetables,” “assessment of student learning in all programs,” assessment results that “inform teaching, learning and resource allocation,” and “convincing evidence” that students are “achieving key institutional and program learning outcomes.”
