Alabama Community College System Gets $12 Million Grant

U.S. Secretary of Labor Alexander Acosta visited north Alabama on Thursday, discussing a $12 million apprenticeship grant to the Alabama Community College System to aid in manufacturing training.

Among Acosta’s stops were at the Decatur campus of Calhoun Community College and Huntsville companies Adtran and Dynetics.

According to an announcement from the labor department, the community college system will partner with the Manufacturing Institute of the National Association of Manufacturers who will provide partially matching funds to develop advanced manufacturing apprenticeships.
