A presidential search for a permanent Southern Union president will begin later this year, said Jimmy Baker, newly appointed permanent chancellor for the community college system.
Southern Union State Community College has had an interim president for almost 10 years.
Meanwhile, presidents in the Alabama Community College System will now undergo job performance evaluations.
