After a firestorm of controversy and discussion earlier this year about the possible elimination of football, the Maricopa County Community Colleges District Board of Governors announced earlier this month it has decided against eliminating the sport.
The decision will be reevaluated again in 2019, as the district continues to try and cut expenses at local colleges.
The Glendale Community College football team plays in the Western States Football League (WSFL), which is part of the National Junior College Athletic Association.
