Connecticut Colleges Coordinate Sex-Assault Initiative

HARTFORD, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) – Connecticut’s 12 community colleges are launching a new coordinated effort to combat sexual assault on campus.

Using a $750,000 federal grant awarded last year, the schools are introducing new software to educate students about bystander intervention, consent, stalking and domestic violence.

The colleges are also pursuing formal agreements with state and local law enforcement agencies outlining how sexual assault complaints are to be handled.
