Judge Sends Man to Prison for Loan Fraud

A man has been sentenced to prison for committing student loan and grant fraud and tax fraud.

U.S. District Judge Paul Maloney ruled Brandon Kenon Rogers, 31, will spend two years in prison and ordered him to pay $128,746 in restitution after he pled guilty to defrauding the U.S. Department of Education.

Rogers obtained the identity of others and used their information to apply for student loans and Pell grants to enroll in Grand Rapids Community College and Kalamazoo Valley Community College.
