Kentucky Community College System Breaks Record for Credentials AwardedAugust 30, 2020 |

When the Kentucky Community and Technical College system moved to online instruction in March as the coronavirus hit the state, Jacqueline Jones had her concerns.
The co-president of the Black Student Union at Jefferson Community and Technical College worried her classes would turn to busy work and her professors, with whom she was used to having a one-on-one connection, would be out of touch. Then, there was the on-campus and off-campus work that accompanied her full class load to worry about.
Luckily, she was able to keep the same work schedule and settled into a new routine. And her professors were flexible and attentive, she said. Discussions turned into papers. Professors checked in with students.
