Louisiana Uses Country Music to Woo Students

Louisiana higher education has gone country in an effort to reach potential students in rural areas.

“If you’re a person who has never considered college, you might not respond to a call to action directly from the school,” said Lucia Folk, vice president of public affairs for CMT.

The Nashville-based cable channel is partnering with the Louisiana Community and Technical College System and Louisiana Calling, a nonprofit working to connect Louisianans with pathways to career and financial success.
