Man Charged With Threats to ‘Shoot Up’ Community College

BOWDOINHAM, Maine — Law enforcement officials have charged a Maine man with terrorizing over alleged threats he made against a community college in Auburn.

The Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Department arrested 23-year-old Darren Lilly on Aug. 13.

Deputies said they received that a tip that Lilly had numerous firearms and “had made threats to shoot up Central Maine Community College.”

He was released from jail with restrictions barring him from traveling to Auburn. Deputies also seized Lilly’s weapons.

The Associated Press could not find a phone number for Lilly. It was unclear if he had retained a lawyer.
