The Massachusetts Legislature is considering a program that would provide free community college to more residents.
The Legislature’s Joint Committee on Higher Education held a hearing Tuesday on H.1245, sponsored by state Rep. Chynah Tyler, D-Boston. The bill would make community college free for some Massachusetts students. The bill would help low- and moderate-income students by waiving community college tuition and fees through a grant called the Massachusetts Promise Program.
