Universal tuition guarantees, tuition rates that vary by the type of degree, and more use of programs to make college quicker to complete are among the recommendations proposed this week by a bipartisan legislative committee.
“We’re thinking this report is a road map for the next budget. It was a good process,” said Rep. Mike Duffey, R-Worthington, the co-chairman of the Joint Committee on Ohio College Affordability.
With a goal of providing opportunities for education or training after high school to Ohio students regardless of family income, the committee of House and Senate members heard testimony and set out to find ways to reduce the cost of attending state universities.
