Just ask 2004 graduate Habibah Sulayman Smith, our 2018 graduation speaker and alumni award winner, who at graduation in May, spoke of the despair of being a young, homeless, single mother with three small children. Today, thanks to help from the College, Smith, who is now married, is project specialist for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Runaway and Homeless Youth Program, which supports organizations and communities working to end youth homelessness.
