Even under new management, the Senate remains a mostly welcoming place for Gov. Gina Raimondo and her education policies.
Raimondo took her campaign for two years of tuition-free public college to the Senate Finance Committee last week and was greeted with mostly positive comments from senators.
New Senate President Dominick Ruggerio — whose enthusiasm for the plan has been under close watch since he replaced strong supporter M. Teresa Paiva Weed — even put in a (non-speaking) appearance.
