Radio Station Appeals for Funds After College Cancels Funds

As part of its bid to curb spending, financially crunched Lane Community College has canceled its traditional $200,000 annual donation to namesake radio station KLCC for the coming fiscal year.

But the downtown Eugene-based public radio station — which is a department of LCC — said it nevertheless plans to preserve its news offerings and program lineup.

The cut represents a 10 percent slice of the radio station’s annual $2 million budget.
