St. Louis Community College Campuses Hold Event to Help Students Enroll, Register for Courses

All six of the St. Louis Community College (STLCC) campuses are offering Enrollment Express, a program that helps individuals interested in enrolling in the college, become a college student and register for upcoming courses for the spring semester.

The program holds enrollment events at each campus where staff can answer questions and assist potential students through the enrollment process. Potential students can also apply to STLCC online, learn about program options at each campus and file ACT scores with the school or take a placement test.

Enrollment Express is available to both new and returning St. Louis students.

For students already admitted at one of the six St. Louis campuses, they can attend a new student registration workshop for first-time college students, meet with an academic adviser, get their student ID photo taken, sign up for a payment plan or pay for classes, get assistance registering for classes and activate their mySTLCC email account.

The Forest Park campus of St. Louis’s Enrollment Express program specializes in health, IT, science and a culinary program, according to CBS-affiliate KMOV4. Students enrolled at the campus can earn all of their core course credit hours and then transfer to any four-year public institution in Missouri.

The goal of hosting Enrollment Express events on the campuses is to make it easier for anyone to start their college career, St. Louis officials said.

At each campuses Enrollment Express events, you can find many staff members who are “able to grab you by the hand and walk you through the entire process, so you can feel comfortable coming back to college and starting your career,” Julie Fickas, a staff member from St. Louis Forest Park campus said.

If a current or potential student was not able to make an Enrollment Express event, the college will have another event on Saturday, Jan. 12 at the South County campus.
