In her 23 years at Lakeland Community College, Professor and Co-chair of Mechanical Engineering Debbie Lozano has never seen anything quite like it.
“It’s absolutely overwhelming,” she said. “I never dreamed I’d see a student like this. He went at it hard every step of the way. We went out of our way to adjust our schedule, but he still did all the work. He’s gone above and beyond.”
Lozano is talking about Eastlake native and Thompson Township resident Chris Hayden, 33, who earlier this month graduated with eight associate degrees.
